Fraudsters have tried to gain access to Nordea Bank and Osuuspankki Bank customers’ bank codes via email. Both banks say customers should delete the messages immediately.
The emails are written in poor Finnish and claim, for instance, that an online bank account has been frozen because of security problems. The messages urge users to click on a link and provide confidential information.
Nordea spokesperson Liisa Friman says that the bank never asks clients to send sensitive bank information by email. She adds that if a client has answered a fraudulent email, they should immediately contact customer service.
Osuuspankki Bank as well says clients who may have fallen for the scam should call the bank.YLE
