Tabloid survey gives Niinistö big lead over Haavisto

Pekka Haavisto and Sauli Niinistö are campaigning for the Finnish presidency.

Conservative presidential candidate Sauli Niinistö leads the polls, according to a fresh survey by the tabloid Ilta-Sanomat. The paper puts Niinistö’s support at 65 percent and Green League candidate Pekka Haavisto's at 35.

A quarter of those surveyed did not want to name a favourite candidate, while 6 percent said they did not plan to vote in the second round of the election.

Pollster MC-Info surveyed 1,342 people. The margin of error is 3.1 percentage points.YLE
