Three young cyber crooks face trials for spreading malware and capturing user data on the teen-focused social web game Habbo Hotel.
Two separate cases will come before courts in the southwest this spring. In Pori, the defendant was under 18 when he phished the accounts of 358 users by creating a fake login page.
The Turku case involves two men, also under 18 at the time of the crime, who stand accused of stealing virtual furniture and spreading malware on the site.
Every month some ten million users interact and buy virtual goods on Habbo Hotel, a cartoonish virtual world where members buy items (with real money) to decorate their Habbo personas and pads.
Habbo Hotel is the brainchild of Helsinki-based social entertainment company Sulake.YLE
